Hi, I’m Maya; the heart, hands, dishwasher and taste buds behind Maya Kitchenette.
Born and raised in Singapore, this blog began more than ten years ago when I was studying Computer Science, majoring in Multimedia. One of my school projects was to design a website and that little project soon became a passion! I started Maya Kitchenette simply as a way to document my recipes for family and friends who were always asking for them. Over time, this space blossomed into my cozy corner on the internet. A place where I share recipes, stories, and all things delicious.
My love language is feeding people. I truly believe that food creates memories. Coming from a wonderfully diverse family with a mix of cultures and races (thanks to many interracial marriages!) My cooking reflects that beautiful blend. From fragrant curries and comforting soups to hearty Western bakes; Maya Kitchenette is a celebration of flavors from my kitchen adventures. When I’m not painting the kitchen red, you’ll probably find me crocheting, watching Bollywood movies, or flipping through my ever-growing collection of recipe books. I also enjoy making cooking videos with my MK elves aka my two nieces in my spare time.
Whether you’re here for quick weeknight meals, festive treats, or desse, rts that impress, I hope you’ll find inspiration to cook with love and joy for your loved ones. So grab your apron and join me. Let’s cook, bake, and make memories together!
Xoxo,
Maya
